Pool Table Buying Guide

Why buy from a dealer and not something online from the internet?
Many of the inexpensive tables flooding online sites offer cheap construction and inferior cushions. Pool tables are an investment and should last a lifetime. It’s important to know that once these arrive at your doorstep, it is necessary to pay for a professional installation which can run anywhere from $300-$500. "Internet deals" quickly become "Internet disasters" when trying to find an installer who is actually willing to build the table. Also it is very difficult to get additional parts for imported tables. Be Safe - Buy American!

Can tables be custom made?
Yes. Most companies are happy to make anything your mind can dream up. There are a large selection of cabinet, leg and rail options. Championship cloth will also custom print fabrics with logos, pictures, etc.

How thick is the slate?
1 inch slate is the most common on tables. This meets the BCA requirements for professional play. Some competitors use 7/8” slate and try to pass it off for 1 inch slate.

Does the table have a center support system?
All home and commercial tables should have a center beam for stability and slate support. Check the construction. You want a thick cabinet that will hold the weight of the slate. Pool tables should be a once in a lifetime purchase, so buy smart.

What is included in the price?
Most reputable companies will offer complete prices to include the table, play package, choice of cloth color and standard delivery. Again, buyer beware of what seems like "a deal" may not be by the time a company adds all of the items that you actually need to be able play with your new table.

How much space do I need?
57” cue (standard cue size)
7ft 12’9”x16’
8ft 13’2”x16’10”
9ft 13’8”x17’10”
